Games:
First game is Saturday, March 7 with 6th graders at home against Highline
and 5th graders away at Queen Anne. Players should arrive at the field
one hour prior to game time, dressed and ready to warm up. More details
on ferries etc. next week. Note: the web site should be updated today
to reflect that 6th graders are Gold and 5th graders are the Blue
team.
Jerseys: We will have jerseys available at the end
of practice on Tuesday. The Club has asked for a $50 deposit for game
jerseys. Checks will not be cashed, but held until the end of the
season. Please make checks out to BILAX and bring to practice Tuesday.
Home Game Helpers: We need a few parents to help
keep score, keep the game clock and keep the penalty clock at each
home game. These very easy chores and are the home team’s responsibility.
Let me know if you’d like to give it a try.

Parents:
Thank you for
your patience with yesterday’s practice cancellation. Coach
Shannon was at Sakai to make sure everyone got home safely and even
took several players home. I have a few housekeeping items to share:
• Practice
will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17
• Registration is now closed; 50 boys have signed up to play
on the 5/6 teams.
• Practices will continue on Tuesday/Thursday 2:30 -4:30 at
Sakai
• Thank you for letting us know if your player cannot attend
practice. My email and Coach Shannon’s are listed above.
• Medical releases are not required for 5/6 grade level.
• Teams and coaches are not set yet…stay tuned for more.
Several BHS players have committed to working with the boys and are
doing a great job.
• Games will begin the first couple weeks of March; schedules
are not yet final.
• I will have equipment releases for the families that borrowed
gear at the first practice. The club had lots to share and many families
used this resource.
• Please review the email list above and send me any updates.
It’s been a challenge to keep this current…my apologies
if I dropped someone!
Player reminders:
• Please
look around before you leave practice to make sure you have all your
gear. We’ve had plenty of cleats, pads, backpacks and water
bottles left in the covered area.
• Please
do not clean the mud/grass off your cleats and gear in the covered
area. We left quite a mess last week.

Dear Parents:
Thank you for
joining the Bainbridge Lacrosse program. The 5/6 teams begin practice
on Tuesday, February 3 at Sakai . Details below.
· Practice:
Tuesday and Thursday at Sakai fields 2:30 – 4:30 pm
· Players
must bring: colored mouth guard, cleats (not tennis shoes as the field
is muddy), helmet, pads, athletic cup/supporter, water and stick. Lacrosse
balls are supplied. For player safety, coaches will check for mouth
guards and athletic cups at the beginning of every practice.
·
Colored mouth guards must be attached to helmets. Clear mouth guards
are not permitted.
· Cleats should also be worn. Shoes with detachable cleats are
not permitted.
· Appropriate sport training attire: sweats, warm-ups, shorts
for the brave, and light running rain gear for misty wet days (we practice
in all weather except lightening) NO jeans or street clothes are allowed
during practice. Dress for the weather and the sport!
· Players should always bring water bottles, even on cold days.
· Players should talk to their teacher about how best to store
their equipment in the Sakai classrooms or in the hallway.
· Players should change into practice gear immediately after
school. Coaches will meet players on the field.
· Back packs and other personal items can be left under the covered
area behind the cafeteria/gym.
· Uniforms will be provided in a few weeks.
· Please pick up your player promptly at 4:30.
Let us know if you have questions.
Regards,
Rosie Courtney
